My favourite TV shows of 2025
- Andor season 2 was hands-down one of the most incredible TV experiences I’ve had. Truly a masterpiece of storytelling.
- The Studio was really fun, went in with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised.
- Parks and Recreation and Brooklyn Nine-Nine are comfort shows that I’m still going through (slowly, because I don’t want to see them ending anytime soon).
- I found myself enjoying season 2 of Peacemaker way more than I thought I would (it was nice to see the focus on the characters, and I’m always up for something with good banter).
- Person of Interest was something I put on the background a lot while doing something else, but I grew to enjoy the story; it does a good job of integrating a larger story into it’s procedural format. Also rather timely with it’s themes around surveillance and AI.
- I didn’t realize I watched Mr Bates vs The Post Office this year, but it deserves to be on the list because it’s such a wild true story.
My favourite movies of 2025
I watch (and rewatch) a lot of movies, so for fairness I’m only singling out movies that I watched for the first time this year.
Unfortunately, I found 2025 a bit of a so-so year for movies. There were some good ones (I thoroughly enjoyed Superman, Sinners, and A Minecraft Movie), but nothing that really blew me away.
And yes, A Minecraft Movie, Thunderbolts, Fight or Flight, The Bad Guys 2 are indeed among my favourite movies of the year. The only thing I care about when picking my favourites is how much I enjoyed watching them, and all of these movies delivered on that front.

Note: TV shows I haven’t finished yet remain unrated (even though I’ve often seen enough to be able to give a rating, I like to wait until I watch the very final episode before doing so).
